6th Annual Rubber Ducky Derby Splashes Down in Rio Linda

Get Ready to Race Your Duck!

Get ready for a quacking good time as the Rio Linda community prepares for the 6th Annual Rubber Ducky Derby! This popular event, hosted at Hayer Park, promises a day of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Starting at 12:00 PM and running until 3:00 PM, the park located at 847 G Street will be the place to be. The main event, the Ducky Derby Races, will kick off promptly at 12:30 PM.

Participants can enter the race by adopting their very own rubber duck. Single ducks are available for $5 each. For those looking to increase their odds or simply enjoy the fun with more ducks, “Quack Packs” of 6 are available for $25, and a “Grand Pack” of 25 ducks can be purchased for $100.

The competition offers exciting prizes for the fastest ducks. The first-place duck will net its owner $200, while the second-place duck will earn $100. A third-place finish is worth $50. And for a bit of added fun, there’s a “lame duck” prize of $5 and a roll of duck tape!

Beyond the thrill of the race, the event is a perfect opportunity for a community picnic. Attendees are encouraged to come and have a picnic. Additionally, there will be food and games available. Hot dogs and soda will be provided for a small donation, making it easy to grab a bite while enjoying the festivities.

The 6th Annual Rubber Ducky Derby is a fantastic way to support the community and enjoy a day outdoors. For more information, you can contact Lion Alex Rathbun at (916) 243-0557. Don’t miss out on this beloved Rio Linda tradition!
